Čížkovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Čížkovice combines a Baroque church, a Baroque château and preserved traces of a château park within a compact village area. The Church of St James the Elder was built between 1675 and 1677; Čížkovice Château is a three-winged, single-storey Baroque building that was remodelled between 1658 and 1665.

Culture and architectural history

The Church of St James the Elder complex is a protected cultural monument. It includes a freestanding bell tower and a statue of Saint Anthony of Padua. The bell tower probably dates from the 1670s. The church also contains a painting depicting the Count of Varensbach and his wife as noble patrons holding a model of the future church.

Čížkovice Château is also connected with the architectural history of the village: its reconstruction was the architect Giulio Broggio’s first independent work.

Landscape

A remnant of the château park survives and displays features of a landscape park. The château park also included the renewal of the paths and park furnishings.

Transport and orientation

Čížkovice railway station is located on railway lines 113 (Litoměřice–Lovosice–Most) and 114 (Ústí nad Labem–Litoměřice horní nádraží–Postoloprty, with connections towards Žatec or Most). The station is integrated into the integrated transport system. The station building or the passenger shelter at Čížkovice station is accessible without barriers. A bus stop for scheduled services is located near the station.
