Zblovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Zblovice is located in the recreational area of the Vranov Reservoir. Marked hiking trails run through the village. Peksův mlýn, a seasonal recreation centre, is situated on the banks of the Želetavka. The Želetavka valley near Zblovice is also suitable for swimming.

Landscape and trails

The natural area includes the U doutné skály Nature Reserve, covering an area of 24.41 hectares. Zblovice is also located on the road from Dešov to Chvalatice and Bítov.

Culture and history

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary in Zblovice dates from 1927. It has two bells because the original bell was found again after the Second World War, by which time a replacement bell had already been purchased.

The old Babylón lime kiln is a technical monument from the 19th century. An information board at the lime kiln explains the history of the structure and the lime-making process; it also displays the original plans and historical photographs.

The important archaeological site of Palliardiho hradiště is located partly in the cadastral area of Zblovice. It lies on a narrow rocky promontory above the Želetavka River; the access saddle is blocked by two trenches carved into the rock. The first written mention of Zblovice dates from 1349.

Cycling

The tourist cycle route 5233 runs from Zblovice to Zblovice, U Křížku (Moravský Krumlov), and is listed as 14.5 km long.
