Bohutice combines sacred culture, protected nature, wine and seasonal festivals. The Bohutice Stations of the Cross is a cultural monument with 54 life-size wooden statues depicting the final journey of Jesus Christ.

Culture and Trails

In the courtyard of Bohutice Chateau stands a fountain with a statue of Saint Florian dating from 1720. The Antonína Práška educational trail begins at Bohutice Chateau and ends at the statue of Saint Wenceslas above the cemetery. With signposts and information boards, it guides visitors and pilgrims past the church, the monument to Father Prášek and the Lourdes Grotto to the cemetery.

Nature and Landscape

U Michálka is a protected natural monument in Bohutice with steppe and rocky habitats. Leskoun is a mountain in the vicinity of Bohutice.

The hills of Topánovský kopec [Rybníky na Moravě], Pustina and Miroslavský vrch are located in the surroundings of Bohutice. On the summit of a granite hill stands a statue of Saint Michael erected in 1721, watching over the vineyards.

Festivals and Specialties

The Bohutický košt takes place annually on the last Saturday in April and usually offers up to 500 wine tastings. The annual Bohutice Summer Apricot Carnival includes tastings of apricot jam and apricot brandy. The Podzimní bohutické slavnosti combine young wine, traditional slaughter specialties, music, activities for children and demonstrations of traditional crafts.

The apricot variety grown in Bohutice was assessed pomologically as unique and previously undescribed in pomological terms. “Abricot Sucre de Bohutice – Bohutická meruňka” was recommended as its international designation.
