Chvalatice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chvalatice is situated on a hill above the Dyje River. Below the village, the river runs through a deeply incised, wooded valley; forests and hills surround the municipality.

Nature

The Růžový vrch Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Chvalatice, about 1 km south of the municipality, on rocky slopes above the Vranov Reservoir. At Petrovy skály, there is chasm vegetation on silicate rocks and scree slopes, as well as mobile silicate scree.

Water and trails

The surroundings of Chvalatice are particularly suitable for hiking and cycling and offer numerous marked trails. Numerous marked hiking and cycling trails run through the cadastral area of Chvalatice. Swimming is also possible in the Chvalatická zátoka bay of the Vranov Reservoir.

Culture and history

A monument to the victims of the First World War stands by the church. The Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross is a single-nave late Baroque building and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The ruins of the hunting lodge in Chvalatice are a small circular structure. In the 19th century, it originally served the Lords of Bítov as a hunting lodge and resting place during hunts in the surrounding forests.

The Chvalatické hradiště is a preserved, freely accessible prehistoric and Slavic fortified settlement site south of Chvalatice on a narrow rocky promontory surrounded by the Dyje River on three sides.
