Miroslavské Knínice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Miroslavské Knínice has several clearly distinguishable facets: historic architectural forms, natural features, a cycling route, and wine and church traditions.
Culture
The château of Miroslavské Knínice, set in a park, is registered as a cultural monument. It is a single-storey, two-wing, four-sided building enclosing a trapezoidal courtyard. It is surrounded by a naturally landscaped park; the château park is one of the protected parts of the registered immovable cultural monument in Miroslavské Knínice. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Miroslavské Knínice is also registered as an immovable cultural monument.
Landscape
The Našiměřický potok stream valley runs from west to southeast through the centre of the cadastral area of Miroslavské Knínice. Most of the cadastral area consists of agricultural land. Miroslavské Knínice lies on the boundary between the Bobravská vrchovina Highlands and the Dyjskosvratecký úval basin.
Nature
The protected object “Pair of Red Beech Trees in the Château Park of Miroslavské Knínice” in the château park was first designated on 30 June 2015. The protected pair of beech trees is classified as a group of trees.
Getting Around
Cycling route 5009 passes through Miroslavské Knínice and runs mainly along paved Class II and Class III roads suitable for all types of bicycles.
Traditions
The filial Church of Saint Nicholas in Miroslavské Knínice is an early Gothic church dating from the second half of the 13th century; a pilgrimage and a church feast held on the Sunday around St Wenceslas Day, 28 September, are associated with it. The traditional “Zarážení hory” event at the Chapel of Saint Urban includes the blessing of the harvest, the symbolic locking of the vineyard, the raising of a maypole, and the appointment of vineyard guards. The 14th wine presentation of wines from the Znojmo wine-growing region takes place on the last Saturday in March in the château hall of Miroslavské Knínice; the programme begins at 10 a.m.
