Hodonice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hodonice lies on the left bank of the Dyje River and is a wine-growing municipality in South Moravia.

History and Culture

One of the significant cultural monuments in Hodonice is the “Church of St James the Greater”. It has a Romanesque core dating from the first half of the 13th century and is a valuable testament to the development of sacred architecture. Hodonice is first mentioned in 1281; in this context, the patronage of the local church is noted.

The “Chapel of Our Lady” is a valuable small church building located on the main road in Hodonice. Its floor plan is circular; it is covered by a dome with a lantern at the top.

Location and Transport Links

Hodonice is located in the immediate vicinity of the touristically attractive Podyjí National Park. The village is easily accessible both by train and by bus. The Svatoklementská Trail connects the railway stations of Hodonice and Znojmo.

The “Dětské dopravní hřiště Hodonice” is intended for individual public visits focused on road safety education and spending time at the playground. Use is free of charge. Visitors may use their own bicycles, scooters, tricycles and balance bikes on the grounds; bicycles and pedal go-karts are also available there.
