Krhovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

There is a water sports campsite on the Dyje in Krhovice, and the nearest swimming spot is also on the Dyje. The paddling section of the Dyje from Krhovice to Hevlín passes through the Meandry Dyje Nature Reserve and is suitable for beginners. Hiking is another leisure activity available in Krhovice.

Nature

The purpose of protecting the Vraní vrch natural monument is to preserve xerothermic plant and animal communities on muscovite orthogneiss of the Krhovice Crystalline Complex. Endangered plant species grow on Vraní vrch, including the Bohemian golden star, large-flowered pasqueflower, purple mullein, and feather grass.

Water Management and History

The Krhovice–Hevlín irrigation canal is supplied with water from the Dyje in Krhovice. At the southwestern edge of Krhovice, the Mlýnská strouha branches off from the Dyje as an artificial water canal. It is a technical monument and is considered the oldest hydraulic engineering structure in Moravia; it was first mentioned in writing in 1302.

Church

The Church of St. Bartholomew in Krhovice was built in 1861–1862. It stands in the southern part of Krhovice above the left bank of the Dyje and the Krhovice–Hevlín canal. Two valuable Neoclassical tomb monuments are located on the northeastern façade of the presbytery.
