Našiměřice: Holiday apartments and houses

Našiměřice combines a Gothic sacred building, an archaeologically designated historic village centre and Route I of the Znojemská vinařská stezka with the landscape of the Dyjskosvratecké nížiny.

Culture

In the southern part of Našiměřice stands the complex of the Church of Saint Giles, including the cemetery, surrounding wall and gate. The church is a significant Gothic sacred building, constructed in the second quarter of the 14th century, with authentically preserved architectural elements.

Extensive structural alterations were made to the church in 1730. These included rebuilding the sacristy and installing a spiral staircase to the bell tower. The cemetery beside the church has been in use from the Middle Ages to the present day.

A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a lawn on the eastern side of the village square. The sacred sculpture, carved from shell limestone in the mid-18th century, is regarded as an important monument of the municipality and as evidence of the high quality of South Moravian sculpture.

History

The medieval and modern historic centre of Našiměřice has been designated an area with archaeological finds. The completely vanished Našiměřice fortress probably originated between 1236 and 1244 under Vlk of Našiměřice; only a faint relief remnant of the core survives in the form of a small elevation.

Landscape

Našiměřice lies in a depression within the extensive, fertile Dyjskosvratecké nížiny at an altitude of 217 m above sea level.

Route I of the Znojemská vinařská stezka passes through Našiměřice and is 47 km long in the Znojmo region. The main route of the Znojemská vinařská stezka, Route I, runs mainly through flat and hilly terrain along Class II and Class III roads as well as field paths.
