Nature and Landscape

Hynčicovy skály is a natural monument featuring heat-loving steppe communities on rocks made of Culm conglomerate, as well as rare plant and animal species. One rock formation made of Culm conglomerate is approximately 18 meters high.

The surrounding area is also characterized by distinctive elevations: Urban is located near Viničné Šumice and is a mountain; Stádla is likewise located nearby and is a mountain. In the immediate vicinity are Kopaniny, a hill, and Na Rovinách, also a hill.

Wine and Village Life

At the end of Viničné Šumice in the direction of Pozořice is Vinařství u Křížů, a traditional family-run small winery. The winery uses traditional methods and technologies, with as few interventions as possible in the vinification process.

Wine exhibitions are held at Sokolovna Viničné Šumice. Traditional krojované hody festivals are also held there.

Culture and Surroundings

The resistance memorial “Našim vítězům” was erected in Viničné Šumice after the Second World War. The two-story square bell tower, the municipality’s most significant cultural monument, is used for May devotions in May. The Baroque cross was made in 1770.

Near Viničné Šumice are Kuchlov, a ruin, and Hrádek, also a ruin. In the wider regional area are Zoo Brno, a zoo, and Zámek Veveří, a castle.
