Věteřov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Věteřov is home to the prominent historical site of Na Valech Castle Ruins. In the Na Valech locality in Věteřov, an imposing, partially preserved castle ruin with the remains of fortifications and ramparts has been preserved. Na Valech Castle Ruins comprise an outer bailey as well as two ditches and ramparts and are known as Klobouk.

Culture and history

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Věteřov was built in 1902. Near this church, the Kyjov Wine Trail enters Věteřov.

The museum in Věteřov displays numerous exhibits that recall the lives of the ancestors of the local population. The museum is open on festive occasions or by telephone appointment with the museum staff or the mayor. Věteřov also has an 18th-century Baroque chapel surrounded by mature lime trees and featuring folk elements.

In the vicinity of Věteřov is Milotice Castle Park, a park. In the wider regional surroundings of Věteřov are Buchlov Castle and Holíč Castle, both castles, as well as Svätá Margaréta, a church, and Ocásek, a mountain.

Landscape and geography

Babí lom is a 417 m high hill locally known as Babylon and is the highest hill in the surrounding area. Cockle shells found on Babylon are regarded as evidence that, in earlier times, the cadastral territory of Věteřov was covered by the sea up to an elevation of 500 m.

The mountains Radlovec, Rozštípená skála and Vyšicko [Mutěnice] are located in the vicinity of Věteřov.

Getting around

A section in Věteřov is also part of the second cycling route, “Around the mill blades to Babí lom hill”. In the centre of Věteřov there is a covered IDS JMK bus stop.
