Tasov is located in the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. Rare animals and plants, including orchids, can be observed in the flower-rich meadows.

Nature and Trails

Several cycle paths run through Tasov. The Strážnická Wine Trail leads from Ostrožská Lhota via Louka, Lipov and Tasov to Strážnice. A blue-marked hiking trail from Veselí nad Moravou to Velká nad Veličkou also runs through the village. The Šumárnická Educational Trail leads through places of interest in the foothills of the Bílé Karpaty.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Tasov was built in 1928. Two artists are also associated with the village: the Slovakian painter Antoš Frolka lived and worked in Tasov, while the folk artist Rozka Falešníková was born here.

Václavské hody is a traditional cultural event in Tasov. The historic route through Tasov was known as “Porta Tasi” on old maps. Tasovský mlýn was mentioned in the 13th century as property of the Lords of Žerotín.

Water and Events

Tasovský rybníček is fed by the Velička stream and is used by anglers for fishing. The Topolový hájek grounds are located in the vicinity of Tasov and host various cultural and social events.
