Milotice U Kyjova: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Milotice, Baroque architecture, protected landscapes and a winemaking tradition dating back to the 12th century come together. Milotice State Chateau is a uniquely preserved ensemble of Baroque buildings and garden architecture.

Culture and History

The Church of All Saints in Milotice has predominantly Baroque and Rococo interior furnishings. The Národopisný festival kyjovského Dolňácka takes place regularly in the Šidleny cellar area.

Nature and Protected Landscapes

Horky is a Natura 2000 site and part of the protected Horky natural monument. With around 270 specimens, Horky is home to the largest population of Russian viper's bugloss (Echium russicum) in the Czech Republic. In spring, it is abundant with flowering spring pheasants' eyes.

The Písečný rybník nature reserve near Milotice comprises a pond divided into a mosaic of areas, with several islands, adjacent wetlands, marsh meadows and surrounding woodland. The pond was created in the 15th century; the nature reserve was designated in 1957 to protect predominantly aquatic and wetland-related species and communities.

Winemaking and Regional History

Winemaking in Milotice dates back to the 12th century. The oldest wine cellar in Šidleny, equipped with a wine press, dates from 1800.

A specific cycle route also passes through the village: Cycle Route 412 runs from Dubňany via Milotice to Kyjov.
