Strážnice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Strážnice can be discovered from above, on the water and in historical exhibitions. The Strážní bílá věž offers a special view of the town of Strážnice, Pomoraví and the surrounding landscape from a height of almost 20 m. Small boats and cabin boats can be rented at the Strážnice harbour on the Baťův kanál. Regular boat trips from Strážnice harbour to the harbour in Petrov are offered.
Culture and history
The Strážnice Open-Air Museum features folk architecture dating from the 18th century onwards. Covering an area of 16 ha, it contains more than 60 interesting buildings. Events and programmes at the Strážnice Open-Air Museum include demonstrations of pottery, weaving on a loom, the traditional craftsmanship of glove-making, basket weaving and the production of krpce.
The Strážnice Town Museum presents permanent exhibitions on local history, nature, associations, postcards, furniture, ceramics and blue-printing. The Strážnice Synagogue houses the permanent exhibition “Žíli mezi námi” on the history of Strážnice’s Jewish population. At the Strážnice Synagogue, visitors can see the interior, exhibitions on Jewish topics and the Jewish cemetery.
Wine and crafts
The Strážnice Open-Air Museum features wine-growing buildings and their equipment, as well as a vineyard illustrating wine-growing from the earliest times to the present day. A small wine-growing exhibition is housed in the Hotařská búda. Wine tastings take place between the barrels in the historic cellar rooms of the Zámecké sklepy.
Nature
The Osypané břehy nature reserve is located 3 km northwest of the town of Strážnice and includes an unregulated section of the Morava with three pronounced meanders and adjacent forests.
Events
The “Mezinárodní folklorní festival Strážnice” festival takes place regularly every year on the last weekend of June.
