Celoznice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Čeložnice lies at the southern foot of the Chřiby Mountains. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1131.

Culture and history

Čeložnice has two immovable cultural monuments registered in the state register. The bell tower in the centre was built in 1854 and bears a sundial, which is considered a surviving example of the craftsmanship of the local master builders. The wayside cross by the road is the second cultural monument in Čeložnice registered in the state register. The year 1802 is engraved on the wayside cross.

Landscape and nature

North of Čeložnice, a mature wild service tree stands in a significant landscape feature; it has been proposed as a memorial tree. The Čeložnický potok stream rises at the Kolomaznica spring in the northern wooded part of the municipality. Roe deer, wild boar and red deer live in the forests of Čeložnice; goshawks and common buzzards can also be observed there.

The Smrďavka spring lies on the edge of the Pastviny recreational area.

Hiking and trails

The yellow-marked hiking trail from Kyjov leads to Čeložnice. Near Čeložnice, the Via Czechia route passes 400 m away from the trail markings, past the bell tower and onwards through a cellar lane.
