Sudoměřice is home to a former manor house, a listed property dating from the late 18th century.

Culture and history

Before the village had a church, the bell tower of Sudoměřice played an important religious role. Its bell bears the year 1847.

The founding charter of the Christ the King Church is built into its gable wall. In the centre of Sudoměřice, near the Christ the King Church, stands a statue of Sudomír.

The Dolinečka exhibition displays instruments and pictures from the Slovácko region.

An extraordinary structure dating from 1939 is the Výklopník Sudoměřice. It was originally used to transfer lignite from railway wagons onto ships at the end of the Ratíškovice mine railway; today it also serves as an observation tower.

Wine

Construction of the Sudoměřice wine cellars began in the 1980s in the former dry bed of the Sudoměřický potok. The Sudoměřice wine cellar area is a place for social gatherings over a glass of wine.

Water and cycle paths

The cycle path along the Baťa Canal runs through Sudoměřice and is more than 80 kilometres long. Bicycles can also be transported on boats along the cycle path along the Baťa Canal.

On the Baťa Canal, people over the age of 18 may operate a watercraft without a special permit or driving licence after being instructed in its operation by the rental provider.
