Culture and History

The former Czech school building in Trboušany dates from 1882 and contains a stone tablet built into the wall from 1629 commemorating Matyáš Turčič Sedmihradský. Trboušany has a bell tower near the school; a new bell tower was added to the one-room school built in 1882.

Local Life

Štouralov is a natural recreation area in Trboušany used by people of all generations. The Šparglík association revived the tradition of a Shrovetide procession in Trboušany. Every Advent Sunday, Vánoční maringotka offers food and drink, including mulled wine, in the village square in Trboušany; Christmas carols are also played.

The Trboušanští vinaři produce their own association wine, including white and red varieties as well as the traditional Frankovka grape variety. The Mužáci z Trboušan also performed at events in Trboušany, including Rozmarýnové hody, wine tastings and the brass band festival.

Leskoun is a mountain in the surroundings of Trboušany. Dolní nová města (Dolní Kounice) and Veselá hora (Mělčany) are hills in the vicinity of Trboušany.

The V olších area preserves a unique community of a hill-country floodplain forest, a so-called softwood floodplain forest, dominated by white willow, black alder, white poplar and black poplar, along with other woody plants of the natural composition; in particular, it provides a suitable habitat for rare and specially protected bird species.
