Tetčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Tetčice showcases its history through small religious buildings and its natural side along the wooded Bobravská vrchovina highlands. Bučín is particularly striking: at 444 metres, it is the highest point of these highlands. At its summit stands a highly visible group of nine mighty, ancient beech trees.
Culture and History
In the oldest part of Tetčice stands the Chapel of St Florian, Kaple sv. Floriana, which was built in the Romanesque style in 1764. Its tower was added in 1886; the chapel also has a steel bell made in 1918.
A Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a rocky hill near Tetčice railway station. The Tetčice Calvary group consists of a cross and two pylons with reliefs of Saint John the Evangelist and the Virgin Mary; it was erected in 1850. The local traditional costume, Tetčický kroj, was also restored to preserve cultural traditions.
Natural Environment
Above Tetčice lies the approximately one-hectare Bučínská štětka stand, which is almost 200 years old. In the Tmavý žleb valley on Bučín stands a European beech estimated to be 300 years old, making it one of the largest and most powerful trees there.
The Bobrava River enters its valley at Tetčice. The surrounding valley is protected as Bobrava Nature Park.
