Southeast of Vranovice lies Vranovický a Plačkův les, an area designated as a European Site of Community Importance within the Natura 2000 network.

Natural Environment

Vranovický a Plačkův les provides a habitat for numerous amphibians and birds. The landscape comprises hardwood floodplain forests, along the Šatava also fragmented softwood floodplain forests, wet alder stands, reed beds and tall-sedge communities, as well as pools with aquatic plants.

Culture and History

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built between 1868 and 1870 and consecrated on 29 May 1870. The Vranovice Ossuary is a circular 17th-century building of the medieval charnel-house type.

Boží muka is a freely accessible monument at a railway crossing in Vranovice and a traditional Baroque wayside-shrine type dating from the first half of the 19th century. The statue of Saint Florian was erected in 1799 at the site of the present-day church and moved in 1868 to its current location in the small park in front of the primary school building.
