Rajhradice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapel of Saint Scholastica in Rajhradice is a particularly distinctive cultural landmark of the municipality: it is the only building in the Czech Republic dedicated to this saint. Since the beginning of 2020, six of the eight reconstructed and supplemented stained-glass windows have been installed in the window openings. The chapel was built in 1896–97 at the municipality’s expense and was completely reconstructed in 2018. Rajhradice also preserves the tradition of Stanislavské hody on 7 May. Boží muka is listed as a cultural monument in Rajhradice.

Culture and History

The Rajhradice monastery barn, built in 1717 according to a design by Jan Santini, is part of the municipality’s historical character and is a distinctive landmark. The Loučská bell tower is decorated with sculptures by woodcarver Jaroslav Buncek.

Nature and Water

In the Loučka district of Rajhradice, the Bajtlák pond is a tranquil area. Fishing competitions are occasionally held there. A board on a path near the shore provides information about the history of the pond and the Loučka district. The Habřina wetland also serves as a walking and relaxation area; occasional bathing is possible there.

Trails and Archaeological Sites

Part of the Naučná stezka Rajhradsko educational trail runs through Rajhradice. An information board along the trail near the Habřina wetland describes the Stráně nad Habřinou archaeological site. An extensive Slavic burial ground was investigated at this site, with a total of 239 graves examined. Cycle Route 404 runs via Rajhrad and Syrovice onward towards Moravský Krumlov.
