Synalov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Synalovské kopaniny comprise the upper slopes extending southwards from Sýkoř towards Synalov, at elevations of 554 to 672 m. Exposed gneiss blocks form one of the longest block fields in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
Nature
Horní Židovka, a protected natural monument with a rocky gneiss ridge and frost cliffs up to 10 m high, lies in the cadastral area of Synalov. Klášterce comprises a rocky ridge extending from Synalov towards Lomnice.
The protected natural monument Míchovec extends across the cadastral areas of Běleč and Synalov. It features frost cliffs, block screes formed by rockfalls, nivation hollows and fissure caves. Pod Sýkořskou myslivnou is a 25-hectare nature reserve in the cadastral area of Synalov.
In the Besének valley between Synalov and Strhaře lies Pilský rybníček, a protected system consisting of a pond and millrace. The pond is a habitat for rare aquatic plants and an exceptional spawning site for amphibians.
Culture and townscape
The Chapel of the Guardian Angels in Synalov was built in 1883. The ruins of Osiky Castle lie mostly in the cadastral area of Synalov and are protected as a cultural monument; a newer footpath provides access to the site.
The centre of Synalov forms an “Okrouhlice” – a circle of about seven large farmsteads around the central village square. Houses featuring the original podhorácká folk architecture have also been preserved in Synalov.
Trails and events
The pilgrimage of the Guardian Angels takes place in Synalov every year on the first Sunday in September. The pétanque tournament “O Synalovský pohár” is also held there annually.
The Jára Cimrman educational trail follows a yellow tourist trail marking from Lomnice u Tišnova to the hut below Sýkoř. One of the trail’s stations at the Pod Synalovem signpost is dedicated to Cimrman’s Plostika.
