Vlkov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vlkov is home to the landscape feature “Vlkovské jalovce”, which is designated as a significant landscape feature and forms a belt of protected juniper trees.

Nature and landscape

A geological site near Vlkov consists of a series of abandoned quarries with walls up to 30 m high. It is accessible by car without restrictions; vehicles can drive to within 250 m.

Mount Kuliška is located in the vicinity of Vlkov. The wider regional surroundings of Vlkov also include the Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války monument, the Kaple Panny Marie church, the Kaple Božského srdce church, the Kaple Panny Marie Lurdské church, as well as the Drašarov, Kočíko and Husák mountains.

Culture and history

The chapel in Vlkov is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius and was built in 1925. In 1295, Vlkov was mentioned among the estates purchased by Jan, the provost of Vyšehrad, from the Litomyšl monastery.

In the municipality of Stvolová, a pilgrimage and dance event is held every year on 5 July in honour of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
