Vacation apartment in Rebešovice: cycling route and village history
Vacation apartment in Rebešovice between the cycling route and village history
Rebešovice combines a cycling route with several specific historic buildings. The cycle paths used in Rebešovice are part of the Brno–Vienna cycle network. The Brno–Vienna cycling route runs mostly along quiet paths away from main roads and has no steep climbs. If you choose a vacation apartment in Rebešovice, you can therefore focus your trip on cycling, architectural heritage, or both.
Historic features in the village
In Rebešovice, the Zámeček with the Chapel of St. Dorota was built in 1694 by Provost Benno Brancouzský on the site of an older freehold farm. The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk is a late Baroque building from the 18th century; a statue of the saint stands by a water spring on the slope below the Zámeček. The chapel is considered a valuable cultural and historic monument and contributes to the character of Rebešovice. The Zámeček houses a castle restaurant and a library. Mass is held every Saturday in the Chapel of St. Dorota.
Smaller structures also tell the story of the village: The 1778 Rococo cast-iron cross stands on an unusual red sandstone pedestal with a high relief of Our Lady of Sorrows. The Neoclassical rustic bell tower on the village square was built around 1830 and has a square floor plan. At the Rebešovické Hody, considered a traditional celebration, held on February 7 and 8, 2026, the program included a procession of the Stárci through the village and a Moravská beseda performed by the Stárci in front of the Zámeček.
Cycling on a varied route
The specific route development is also of interest to cycling tourists: In autumn 2022, the cycling route through Rebešovice was changed and replaced by a new bypass. The new bypass initially follows the riverbank, crosses fields to Rebešovický rybník, passes the local willow nursery, and crosses the Ivanovický potok on a small bridge. Beyond it, the route reconnects with the existing route toward Olympia.
Hills, parks, and regional destinations
Družďavy and Dunavy are hills in the immediate vicinity of Rebešovice. Vinohrady and Nedánov are mountains in the wider region around Rebešovice. Sady Osvobození and Park Lužánky are parks in the surrounding area. The wider region also includes Dívčí Hrady, a ruin, and Brno Zoo, a zoo.
The TJ Sokol Rebešovice club also organizes numerous sporting events and tournaments every year. For families with different interests, this combination of exercise, architectural heritage, and regional destinations provides a useful basis for planning. When choosing a vacation apartment or vacation house in Rebešovice, you can consider whether cycling, historic features, or destinations farther afield should be the focus of your stay.
