Kupařovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Kupařovice, Baroque architectural history, the historic Dietrichstein horse breeding tradition, and the river landscape of the Niva Jihlavy Nature Park converge. The Krumlovsko cycling route also passes through the village.

Culture

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque round rotunda. Its construction began after 1718, and it was consecrated in 1722. Together with a stone Baroque cross, the chapel is protected as a cultural monument. It is currently in a dilapidated condition.

Kupařovice Castle is located on the eastern edge of Kupařovice and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It was built according to a design by the architect František Antonín Grimm between 1739 and 1743. The castle is a two-storey building with two wings and a rectangular floor plan; a passageway is located on its transverse axis.

Nature

Parts of the cadastral area of Kupařovice lie within the Niva Jihlavy Nature Park. A characteristic feature of the nature park is the naturally meandering course of the Jihlava River, which is up to 20 m wide and 2 m deep there. The nature park is intended to protect the character of the landscape while also enabling sustainable tourism and recreation.

History

During a historical period, Kupařovice was home to the central stud farm of the Dietrichstein horse breeding operation. This horse breeding operation began in 1666, when Prince Ferdinand Joseph of Dietrichstein had horse stables built on a newly acquired estate as the basis for a future stud farm.
