Lukovany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lukovany is home to the Church of St Wenceslas, a Romanesque building dating from before 1300. It is listed as a cultural monument under registration number 0800/1; inside, there is a Baroque pulpit dating from 1716.

Culture and History

Lukovany's traditional folk costume was reconstructed in 2024 based on several surviving parts of the original costume and written descriptions that were found. At the 2024 celebrations, these reconstructions were presented alongside local children's and youth folklore, a performance of the fair ritual, and songs and dances that were formerly sung and performed at celebrations.

The Mining Trail leads from the Oslava valley to the Bílý potok through the former Rosicko-Oslavany hard-coal mining area and focuses on monuments connected with mining history.

Outdoor Activities

The hill Na Červených [Čučice] is located in the vicinity of Lukovany. The 30-kilometre circular Permoník Trail also passes through the village. The section between Zbýšov and Lukovany runs along rocky, very wet forest paths and includes three maintained fords. The Permoník Trail is suitable for cycling and hiking.

The surroundings of Lukovany include the ruins of Tempelštejn, the ruins of Rabštejn, the Chapel of St Peter and Paul, and Babí hora mountain.

Nature

In the forests immediately beyond Lukovany, people gather mushrooms in autumn and pick blackberries in summer. A local pond on the access road from Zakřany to Lukovany is considered a fishing stop.
