Blažovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Blažovická forge was built around 1770. After the Velvet Revolution, the Blažovická forge resumed operations with a locksmith's licence; it was run by the sixth and seventh generations of the Kašpařík family in Blažovice.

Culture and History

The commemorative stone plaques in Blažovice document the history of a farm estate that belonged to the Dominican convent at St Anne's. The oldest commemorative stone plaque reports that the farm estate burned down completely on 17 August 1604 and was rebuilt in 1607.

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Blažovice was consecrated on 10 June 1934 and dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The current Stations of the Cross were painted in 1954 by local painter Rudolf Paulík. There is also a sculpture entitled “Setkání” at the northern entrance to the village. It consists of four wooden pylons and was created by sculptor Mgr. Daniel Klose.

The Blažovická bell tower houses two commemorative plaques dedicated to fallen French soldiers and their commanders, Pierre Castex and Colonel Jean Pierre Morland. The new Boží muka pod Starými vinohrady wayside shrine was unveiled on 2 December 1992 on the southern edge of the cadastral area of Blažovice, at the crossroads of the roads from Prace to Křenovice and from Blažovice to Zbýšov. It commemorates the victims of the Battle of Austerlitz and the suffering of the inhabitants of the surrounding municipalities.

Nature and Activities

The biocentre in Blažovice includes a pond depression planted with aquatic plants, which serves as a breeding ground for protected amphibian species. The entire biocentre is suitable for relaxing Sunday walks and also includes an information board about the Bitvy tří císařů educational trail.

The pump track in Blažovice features an asphalt surface for cycling or riding a scooter, as well as a skills zone for improving bike handling and riding technique. The pump track is freely accessible.

Trails

The Bitva tří císařů educational trail includes a section designated PS6 Blažovice–Jiříkovice. This section is connected with the decisive attack by French troops on the Pratecké návrší and Staré vinohrady hills during the Battle of Austerlitz. The 31-kilometre “Po slavkovském bojišti I” route also passes through Blažovice.
