Mělčany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Mělčany is a wine-growing municipality in the Znojemská vinařská podoblast, the Znojmo wine-growing region. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1181; at that time, Mělčany belonged to the Dolní Kounice monastery.
Culture and history
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1872. Another sight in Mělčany is the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
Landscape and cycle path
Mělčany lies in a depression running from southeast to northwest, through which the Šatava stream flows. Marked cycle route No. 5172 also runs through the village, connecting Rosice with Židlochovice via several other places.

Events
The Memoriál Jana Kadaňky is an annual competition for adult teams in fire attack sport. The Memoriál Josefa Fuchse is a youth fire sport competition and takes place towards the end of the summer holidays.
The next TFA “Železný kačer” competition was scheduled to take place in Mělčany on the last Saturday of April 2019. In this event, firefighters in full equipment run an obstacle course and, among other things, carry an injured person and lay out hose lines.
The fourth Masopustní průvod took place in Mělčany on 2 March 2019. It was a masked procession through the village, with refreshments, music and dancing at the Sokolovna until the evening. The “Švestky všelijak” event was also scheduled for 5 October 2019.
