Drásov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Drásov is a state-protected cultural monument. The single-nave building has a square west tower from the mid-13th century, a late Romanesque core from the same period and a Gothic chancel. A pilgrimage associated with this church takes place on the Sunday around 14 September.

Landscape

Drásov lies in the central part of the Boskovice Furrow, which is bordered by the marginal areas of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The bedrock of this furrow, in which the cadastral territory of Drásov is also located, consists of Permian deposits, particularly arkose-like sandstones, Balin conglomerates and clay shales.

Nature

The improved section of the lower Lubě continues through the cadastral territories of Malhostovice, Všechovice and Skalička. Along its entire length, it has continuous bankside vegetation consisting predominantly of black and grey alders and is home, among others, to River Warblers and Spotted Flycatchers.

Drásovská studánka lies at the foot of a gentle slope on the edge of the Lubě floodplain, on a two-hectare area at an altitude of 268 to 280 metres. It includes a spring, a small stream and park-like stands of trees consisting predominantly of native species.

The park north of Drásov was created in the 1990s by landscaping an area called Močidla. Its spring provides water that is safe for health and also suitable for infants. Particularly during the First Republic, the park was a venue for various celebrations, entertainments and open-air theatre.

Culture

The cadastral territory of Drásov contains clear traces of settlement from the entire prehistoric period, beginning with the Early Stone Age. Extensive settlements with cremation burial grounds from the Late and Final Bronze Age and from the Roman Imperial period were located north and northeast of the present-day settlement.

The Sunday programme of Drásovské hody culminates at 2:00 p.m. in a procession from the school. Drásovské hody are open to the entire public, both those wearing traditional dress and those without it; they also include the erection of the maypole.

Drásovská stopa is intended for hikers and cyclists of all ages. It offers short routes supplemented by competitions for parents with children, as well as longer routes for fit individuals and groups. In 2026, the event was scheduled for 23 May as its 10th edition.
