Štěpánovice lies on the Svratka River and is surrounded by the wooded slopes of the peaks of the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. The surrounding area is home to the Sýkoř, Víckov, Střela and Paní hora mountains.

Geographical location

A red-marked hiking trail passes through Štěpánovice; blue- and yellow-marked hiking trails also begin at Štěpánovice railway station.

Culture

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius is one of the historic monuments of Štěpánovice. There is also a Baroque Chapel of Saint Anne in the village.

The Boží muka in Štěpánovice are listed among the protected cultural monuments and constitute an example of small-scale Baroque sacred architecture made of red sandstone, dating from 1706. In the centre stands a former mill building from 1843.

The 23-kilometre Na Babylon cycling route leads via Tišnov, Štěpánovice, Borač, the Babylon lookout tower, the Křivoš lookout tower, Kaly, Dolní Loučky and Předklášteří, returning to Tišnov.

The Borač–Kaly section of the shorter cycling route features terrain suitable for mountain bikes. On the Štěpánovice–Podolí section of the shorter cycling route, you can use the train.
