Lubné: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Lubné lies at the foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The Halda stream runs along the eastern edge of Lubné’s cadastral area; near Kutiny, it flows into the Libochůvka from the right. The Lubenský potok also flows through Lubné toward Kutiny.

Nature

In the immediate vicinity of Lubné, a protected zone of a natural monument lies in a deep gorge, locally known as “Lubenský prales.” Part of the settlement of Kutiny belongs to Lubné and is a popular destination for tourism and recreation. The nearby valleys of the Halda stream and the Libochůvka, which converge in the nearby settlement of Kutiny, are popular destinations for hitchhikers and hikers.

Trails and Valleys

A green-marked hiking trail runs through Lubné from Tišnov through the Libochůvka valley and the recreational area around Níhovský rybník to Velká Bíteš. The trail through the Halda Valley between the Níhov railway stop and Kutiny is about five kilometres long. On the route through the Halda Valley, you frequently have to cross the stream because there are usually no footbridges. The Níhov railway stop is a suitable starting point for a trip into the Halda Valley. One variant of the route leads along the road to Lubné and Níhov.

Lubné is regularly served by the Tišnov–Velká Bíteš bus route.

History and Culture

The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was built on the southeastern slope of Lubné in 1885. The chapel has been restored and is registered as the Chapel of Our Lady in Lubné under registration number 18350/7-4201. A traditional pilgrimage mass is celebrated at the chapel every year in May.

In the direction of Níhov lies the spring of St. Giles, with a statue of its patron saint. In the direction of Rojetín there is a stone Stations of the Cross with a unique glass cross; a statue of Saint Zdislava also stands there. It is one of the works of the sculptor Lubomír Lacina from Velká Bíteš.

In the Borky district, a former mill and remote settlement of Lubné, worked flints and pottery shards were found. The wooden building now used as the Lubné cultural centre was moved from the settlement of Kutiny; during the war, it was part of a forced labour camp.

Shared Moments

Decorating Christmas trees together is a tradition in Lubné. So-called creative Fridays take place on the first Friday of every month. The band Listověj has performed concerts in Lubné several times.
