Telnice U Brna: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Telnice is home to historical monuments, several cycle routes and the Historical Educational Trail. The church, chapel, local history and natural monument represent the different facets of the village.

Culture and history

The parish church in Telnice is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Only the Romanesque tower of the original church has survived to this day. Another historical landmark is the Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1740.

The Historical Educational Trail in Telnice presents life in Telnice and Cífer at the beginning of the 19th century. It is about 2 kilometres long, starts and ends at Masaryk Square, and comprises nine stations with information boards. At the end of V Dědině and Růžová streets there is also a triangular chapel, which was probably erected at a mass grave of fighters. The traditional Telnické hody festival takes place in June.

Things to do

Several routes run through Telnice or lead from Telnice into the surrounding area. Cycle Route No. 5063 runs from the church in Telnice to the crossroads near Sokolnice. The Brno Cycle Route leads directly through Telnice and connects to the educational trail to Mohyla Míru. From Telnice, you can also follow Cycle Route No. 473 towards Újezd u Brna. The cycle routes in Telnice are part of the Moravské vinařské stezky.

Orlovna Telnice also offers various activities: spinning, bowling, tennis, ricochet, power yoga and a fitness centre. Orlovna is also open to non-members of Orel.

In the Písky natural monument near Telnice, sand-loving flora grows in the floodplain of the Litava stream.
