Kozojídky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Kozojídky is located on the border of the Bílé Karpaty protected landscape area.

Culture and traditions

In the Easter tradition of Klepání, participants replace the church bells with wooden rattles. The meeting point for Klepání and Řehtání is always at St. Martin’s Chapel. The traditional Fašaňk festival is also celebrated regularly in Kozojídky.

Villagescape and history

The restored tobacco drying house in Kozojídky illustrates the lifestyle and vernacular architecture of Moravian Slovakia in the first half of the 20th century; it is not a cultural monument. St. Martin’s Chapel was built between 1968 and 1971, and a freestanding bell tower stands beside it. Several houses in the village showcase the style of rural vernacular architecture.

Landscape and wine

Kozojídky is surrounded by extensive fields that transition into vineyards. Throughout the history of the local horticultural organisation, wine exhibitions were held there every year, with the exception of two years. A traditional fruit and vegetable exhibition took place on 6 and 7 October 2024 in the hall of the Kozojídky Municipal Office.

Cycle path, sports and winter

A local cycle path leads from Kozojídky and connects to the Strážnice cycle path in neighbouring Hroznová Lhota. A sports complex with a playing field and a children’s area was built on the southern edge of Kozojídky. In winter, cross-country skiing is possible in Kozojídky.
