Culture and architecture

The Protestant Church of Tolerance in Javorník dates from 1783, has largely preserved its original form to this day, and is a protected monument. The local cultural heritage also includes the Protestant cemetery with its bell tower dating from 1733; the cemetery is a cultural monument in Javorník.

Kopánky is a village conservation area with a valuable ensemble of folk buildings. Its original layout has been preserved; the buildings document the architectural culture of small farmers in the White Carpathians. Groups of wooden hay barns, regarded as historically valuable structures and cultural monuments, are located on the eastern edge of Javorník.

The wider regional surroundings of Javorník include Branč Castle [Podbranč], Kaštieľ Sobotište Castle, the ruins of Čachtice Castle, and Dobrá Voda Castle.

Trails

The Javořinská educational trail comprises three circular routes of different lengths and 14 stations. At the Javorník station, the short option follows a walking loop along the western slope of Hradisko to the Petruchovy mlýny. The Javořinská educational trail passes through Javorník, including the section around the javornické seníky.

A footpath leads from Javorník through the Filipovské údolí valley to Velká Javořina. Cycle Route 5046 leads from Zámečnické Mlýny through the Filipovské údolí valley to Javorník.

Nature and landscape

The Filipovské údolí valley is a popular hiking destination because of the unique, deeply incised relief of the Hrubý potok stream. The steppe slopes near Nad Vápenkou are home to the largest population of the large-flowered pasque flower in the White Carpathians. Nad Vápenkou protects xerothermic communities as well as protected and endangered plant and animal species.

Jazevčí near Javorník is a complex of flower-rich meadows. It comprises natural meadow communities of the White Carpathians with the frequent occurrence of orchid-like plants; mineral springs are also protected there.

The mountains Hradisko, Kamenná Vrata, and Strana are located in the immediate surroundings of Javorník; Mount Kobyla lies near Javorník.
