Kelčany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the centre of the village square in Kelčany stands the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It dates from 1817 and was reconstructed in 2013.

Culture and History

Near Chrást stands a historic wooden cross made of oak, approximately 5.5 m high and located there since 1810. The cross is listed as a cultural monument; three lime trees at its location were declared memorial trees in 2005.

The “Kelčanský svátek” is a traditional local custom in Kelčany: the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, accompanied by a procession.

The Kelčanské búdy are a row of wine cellars in the northern part of Kelčany, lining the main road between Kyjov and Žádovice. In the Kelčany cellar row, cellar owners offer wine tastings accompanied by gastronomic specialities.

The “Cesta Podchřím” route is easy and approximately 12 km long.

The “Cesta Podchřibím” route offers numerous exceptional viewpoints and rest areas. Depending on the direction, it starts or ends in Kelčany at the wooden cross by Chrást Forest.
