In Karlín, you can begin walks and cycling trips along the Vinařská stezka obcemi Moravského Slovácka. The route is 31 km long and leads through more than 20 stations, each dedicated to a single grape variety that is actually cultivated at the respective station.
Nature and Landscape
Zápověď u Karlína is a protected area in the cadastral territory of Karlín. It preserves the remaining vegetation of dry grasslands, as well as specially protected animals and plants, particularly the species Hadinec červený, which is of European importance. The Natura 2000 site Zápověď u Karlína, an entomologically important locality of regional significance, is also located in the vicinity of Karlín.
Culture and Local History
The municipality considers the Kaple sv. Karla Boromejského chapel to be Karlín’s most significant monument. The Muzeum obce Karlín is housed in an unusual U-shaped rural house built around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and preserves evidence of Karlín’s development as part of the village’s cultural heritage. The museum’s chamber, kitchen and living room are furnished to illustrate rural life in the first half of the 20th century.
The Muzeum obce Karlín is open during festive occasions and at Christmas, Easter and the Hody celebrations. It can also be visited by prior arrangement with the municipal office. Every year, Karlín hosts the traditional costume festival Tradiční krojované hody na Svatý duch.
Wine and Local Events
Since 2016, the Vinařský spolek Karlín has organized a wine tasting every spring.
