Dubňany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Behind Dubňany lies the Jarohněvický pond. The body of water covers almost 100 hectares and is one of the largest bodies of water in the Hodonín District. Various bird species can be observed there; beneath the water’s surface are flooded shafts, remnants of the local mining industry. Kosteliska Bird Park is intended to remain accessible to the public.

Culture

The Church of St. Joseph in Dubňany combines the preserved remains of a late Baroque chapel with a Neo-Romanesque nave. It is 31 metres long, and the nave is 11 metres wide. Its tower is 37 metres high and bears a 2.6-metre cross. Inside hangs a chandelier donated to the new church by a glassworks in Dubňany in 1885.

The Dubňany Cultural and Information Centre offers guided tours of the exhibitions on mining and glassmaking, as well as of the Slovácká jizba.

Activities

The Mutěnka cycle path is 14.5 kilometres long, easy and mostly flat, and runs from Kyjov to Mutěnice. It was built along the former Mutěnice–Kyjov railway line.

Koupaliště Dubňany has a small pool and a paddling pool for children and their parents. There is also a toboggan and a large water slide.

Holíčsky zámok, a castle, is located near Dubňany. Milotice Castle Park is a park near Dubňany. Svätá Margaréta is a church near Dubňany.

The immediate surroundings of Dubňany also include Vyšicko [Mutěnice], a mountain, as well as Písky u Dúbkú [Dubňany] and Škrábaná alej [Hodonín], both hills. In the wider region around Dubňany are Holý vrch, a mountain, and Pohansko, a castle.
