The Křivoš lookout tower stands southeast of the village of Zahrada, a district of Kaly in the Brno-venkov District, on the eponymous 464-metre-high summit. It is open year-round, free of charge and freely accessible. From the Kaly bus stop, a blue-marked hiking trail leads through the Zahrada district to the Křivoš lookout tower. From the Křivoš lookout point, the marked trail passes by the noteworthy small waterfalls of the Kalský potok.

Culture

In the centre of the village stands the central Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene, dating from 1883 and protected as a cultural monument by the state. It stands approximately on the site of an old bell tower dating from 1834. Above the entrance, a sculpture of Saint Florian is located in a niche. Directly beside the chapel stands a monument to those who fell in the First World War, made of Nedvědice marble.

At the northern edge of Kaly, beside a field path, stands an undated cast-iron cross on a sandstone base that is now severely damaged. The Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene in the Zahrada district bears the year 1915 in its gable and was renovated after 1990.

Cycle Paths

From Kaly, cyclists can continue to the Zahrada district either directly or via Babylon Hill, where a lookout platform, a panoramic map and a resting area have been installed.

The “Na Babylon” cycling excursion is approximately 14 km long and leads from Borač, in the Vrby district, along an uphill forest path to the Babylon lookout point above Kaly; optionally, at Zahrada, you can continue to Křivoš and then descend to Dolní Loučky.
