Deštná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Deštná lies on the boundary between the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and the Drahany Upland. In the Deštná area, steep slopes with meadows and wooded hills rise above the ravine of the Zavadilka stream.

Landscape

The Husák and Kuliška hills are located around Deštná. Mount Drašarov lies in the wider regional surroundings of Deštná. The hill “Na Drahách [Letovice-Dolní Smržov]” is located in the immediate vicinity of Deštná.

Culture and History

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Deštná was built between 1781 and 1782 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 2000. The Rumberk Castle complex is situated on a spur above the eastern edge of the Rumberk settlement. Archaeological investigations at Rumberk Castle uncovered a residential tower that had previously been suspected to exist.

The monument “Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války” and the churches “Kaple Panny Marie”, “Kaple Božského srdce” and “Kaple Panny Marie Lurdské” are located in the wider regional surroundings of Deštná.

Trails and Events

The signposted local cycle route 5167 Na Červené–Deštná runs through the municipality of Deštná below the ruins of Rumberk Castle. The spring hiking event “Putování okolo Deštné” took place in Deštná at least for the second and third time.
