Zebrakov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Žebrákov is designated as a village heritage conservation zone in the Písek District. The village has a significant ensemble of rural folk architecture built predominantly using timber frame construction.

Culture

There is a chapel in the centre of Žebrákov. A prominent local figure in the first half of the 20th century was František Kuchta, who was also known as “žebrákovský Cimbura” and “strejc Franc”.

The Church of Svatý Jan is located in the vicinity of Žebrákov and also in the wider regional surroundings of the village. The historical site “Lety u Písku. Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia” is also located in the wider regional area.

Nature

The Žebrákovský stream flows through Žebrákov and winds through a picturesque valley. It flows into the longest bay of the Orlík Reservoir, which is 2.1 kilometres long.

The area around the Žebrákovský stream is forested and forms the largest forest complex in the Kovářovsko area. The surrounding forest is home to numerous wild animal species, including wild boar, roe deer, small game and a small herd of fallow deer. Žebrákov is primarily used for recreation.

Mount Hrby lies in the immediate vicinity of Žebrákov. The mountains Chlum, Jenšovice and Zvíkovec are also located in the vicinity of the village.
