Vystrkov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Kozárovice–Vystrkov rampart complex is situated on a wooded, steep promontory on the left bank of the Vltava, or Orlík Reservoir, and by the flooded valley of the Hradeňský Brook in the former settlement of Vystrkov.

Landscape and history

The complex covers approximately 12.5 hectares and is divided by four prominent transverse ramparts. Its fortifications were built in the first half of the 10th century. It was probably a Přemyslid centre of the Vltava region; it is mentioned in 1088.

Another historical facet is the Vystrkov recreation complex. It was originally designed as a retreat for leading officials of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and built at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s in the forests on the left bank of the Orlík Reservoir. Construction work was completed in November 1963.

Orlík and the surrounding area

The Karavan Orlík campsite is open all year round.

The historical site of Lety u Písku (Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia) is located in the vicinity of Vystrkov. Hrad Zvíkov Castle is also located in the area.

The mountains in the vicinity of Vystrkov include Hrby, Bukovec, Vinice and Chlum.

The wider regional area includes the Svatý Jan Church and the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast ruins.

Wellness

The wellness centre at Hotel Orlík includes a large indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, two Finnish saunas with cold-water pools, outdoor lounging areas and a relaxation room. Guests not staying at the hotel can access the wellness centre for a fee.
