Suchodol: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Suchodol, the protected grounds of the Church of Saint Luke include the church, the cemetery wall, the gravestone of Josef Suk, and the plots of land belonging to the grounds. The first written mention of Suchodol dates back to 1360; at that time, the noble residence was owned by Petr ze Suchého Dolu. The church tower contains a bell by Pavel Korka z Korkyně from 1582, while the church interior features a Baroque altar with an image of Saint Luke.

Culture and History

A cross stands in Suchodol’s central public square, in front of the grounds of the agricultural cooperative. The Church of Saint Anne is also located in the vicinity of the village.

Further afield in the region are the Zřícenina Valdek ruins, Karlštejn Castle, and the historical site “Lety u Písku. Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia.”

Mount Velký Chlum is located in the vicinity of Suchodol. The mountains Kuchyňka, Velká Leč, and Hradec are also located near the village.

Activities

In connection with Suchodol, a tandem parachute jump from 4,000 metres is offered at Letiště Příbram–Dlouhá Lhota Airport. In connection with Suchodol, this airport is designated as an “air transport facility.”

Public Use

In 2020, the multi-purpose sports field in Suchodol had public opening hours on weekdays from 15:00 to 20:00, and on weekends, public holidays, and during school holidays from 8:00 to 20:00. In 2020, use of the multi-purpose sports field could be reserved by email; only confirmed reservations were valid.
