Around Chouzavá, marked trails meet the deep Brdy forests: the Zelený okruh cycle route runs through the small settlement and then into the deep Brdy forests. The Cestami Káji Maříka hiking route leads from Mníšek pod Brdy to Chouzavá along the blue-marked hiking trail.
Landscape and Nature
In the wider regional surroundings of Chouzavá lies the Andělské schody nature monument. It covers 172.4194 hectares and protects wet meadows, seasonally wet and drought-loving meadow communities, preserved deciduous forest communities, as well as the scarce large blue butterfly (Maculinea teleius).
Mount Hradec lies in the vicinity of Chouzavá. Zelenský vrch [Voznice] is located nearby. The mountains Velký Chlum and Plešivec are also situated in the wider regional surroundings.
History and Culture
Chouzavá has medieval origins. The historic village of Chouzavá disappeared during the Thirty Years' War, but the formerly unforested area of Chouzavá remained. In the wider surroundings, the historic Zlatá stezka route ran in the past.
Karlštejn Castle is located in the wider surroundings of Chouzavá. The Malá Svatá Hora church is nearby, while the Svatý Jiří church lies in the wider regional surroundings. There is a small bell tower in Chouzavá.
Chouzavá is also home to a tall cross with Christ on a sandstone pedestal. It bears the year 1733 and was erected at a place where a wedding took a tragic turn.
