Radětice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landscape and Location

Radětice lies in a valley that slopes down from north to south, at an elevation of 526 metres. The hill Babylon borders the village to the west; it reaches 547 metres. To the east, Radětice is bordered by Silina Hill, which is 548 metres high and covers more than 11 hectares.

History and Archaeological Traces

The layout of Radětice forms an Old Slavic circle. Radětice was first mentioned in writing in 1298. A 13th-century metallurgical workshop focused on iron production was investigated near Radětice. A bronze hoard weighing 7.5 kg was found on Stráž Hill.

East of Silina Hill lies a Slavic burial site from the 9th century, which was archaeologically investigated between 1953 and 1955. Palivcův statek is a former large farmstead with house number 2, located on a village square with a pond. A rural farmstead with house number 9 in the Radětice cadastral area is also listed.

Village Square and Surroundings

The building on Radětice village square houses a library, an inn and a hall where cultural and social events can be held. A shop selling a mixed range of goods is also operated on Radětice village square.

In the vicinity of Radětice, Příbram is 8 km away and can be reached by a good bus connection. Příbram is home to the pilgrimage site of Svatá Hora. The pilgrimage site of Maková Hora is also located near Radětice, on a hill above the municipality of Smolotely.
