Sedlec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Karla-Burky Bridge was completed in 1822 as a direct connection between Sedlec and Prčice. The structure is a 200 m long masonry bridge with three arched openings.

History and Architectural Heritage

Prčice is located in a basin locally known as “Český Merán.” On Vítkovo náměstí in Prčice, House No. 6 is part of the oldest historic buildings. House No. 6 in Prčice has been listed as a cultural monument since 2009.

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Prčice is originally Romanesque and was founded in the 12th century or possibly as early as the 11th century. The church hosts a concert every year as part of the Czech Organ Festival. The plague chapel in Prčice was built after the plague epidemic of 1680 and is a protected monument. The castle building in Prčice also contains a very well-preserved, late Gothic, two-storey fortress.

Trails and Events

The educational trail “From the Vítkov Rose to the Miraculous Spring” has Vítkovo náměstí in Prčice as its first stop. It is 7.3 km long and runs through the immediate surroundings of Sedlec-Prčice.

The Praha–Prčice March takes place annually on the third Saturday in May; its history dates back to 1966. The Sedlčany-Robinova Route leads from the north to Prčice and starts in Sedlčany.

The Vítek z Prčice Brewery in Sedlec brews unfiltered yeast beer.
