Drahenice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Drahenice Castle originated from a fortress dating back approximately to the 14th century and was expanded into the present-day castle in the 16th century.

Culture

The castle is a two-winged, two-storey building with a mansard roof. It includes a prismatic tower topped by a dome.

The former manorial distillery in House No. 75 is a protected cultural monument within the Drahenice village heritage reserve. It is also regarded as an exceptionally well-preserved technical structure from the 18th century; remnants of the original heating system have survived in its central section.

The Drahenice-Račany village heritage zone comprises an ensemble of folk architecture. The protected Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows stands by the school in Drahenice. The memorial crosses at the access roads and entrances to Drahenice were restored in 2010 and 2012.

Landscape

Drahenice lies below the distinctive Drahenická hora elevation. Its highest point, Drahenický vrch, reaches 615 metres above sea level.

Activities

Every year at Easter, the municipality organises a hike to Drahenický vrch.

The Jihočeská ochutnávka cycle route passes through the Račany district and Drahenice on cycle route No. 8214; it leaves Drahenice on cycle route No. 1062. Drahenice Castle can only be viewed from the outside as part of this cycle route.
