Starosedlský Hrádek: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Starosedlský Hrádek lies at the beginning of the picturesque, flat valley of the Hrádecký potok stream.

Landscape

The Hrádecký pond is one of the important landscape features of the cadastral area of Starosedlský Hrádek. The Zámecký pond was created for fish farming in the 15th century and is still used for this purpose today.

History

The first written mention of Starosedlský Hrádek dates from 1376. The Renaissance chateau of Starosedlský Hrádek originally developed from a 15th-century fortress; its exterior façades are decorated with valuable 17th-century sgraffiti. The small manorial granary is dated roughly to the second half of the 16th century and has a uniquely well-preserved roof structure with a Renaissance hanging truss.

Culture

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity was built at the end of the 16th century. It features well-preserved interior paintings that were restored several years ago; services are occasionally held there.

The Panský mlýn retains the complete equipment of an artistic roller mill, a unique semi-artisanal installation, and a double mill frame. The Panský mlýn can be visited by prior arrangement.

Orientation

The chateau of Starosedlský Hrádek has not been open to the public in recent years. From Březnice, Starosedlský Hrádek can be reached via cycle route No. 8216. The municipality carried out a project to repair the statue dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk beside the road.
