Procevily: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Above Pročevily, St. Barbara’s Church stands on a hill at an elevation of 591 m. It offers far-reaching panoramic views and is also designated as an immovable cultural monument.

Location and Villagescape

Pročevily lies approximately 4.5 km as the crow flies west of Březnice, at a turnoff from Bubovice. St. Barbara’s Church is located above the settlement near the road between Bubovice and Vševily.

Pročevily has a preserved, compact structure of irregularly arranged village buildings. Next to the church is a small cemetery for people deceased in Pročevily, Volenice, and Vševily. The entire settlement area, including the nearby St. Barbara’s Church on the hill, is designated as an area of urban-planning value.

Culture and History

St. Barbara began as a chapel built by Jesuits from Březnice. In the 14th century, Pročevily belonged to the archiepiscopal estate of Rožmitál.

The school of Pročevily was built near St. Barbara’s Church; classes began there in 1835. In 1913, children from Pročevily, Volenice, and Vševily, as well as from the hamlets of Nouzov, Cihelna, Na drahách, and Lesní chalupy, attended this school.

Landscape and Trails

The Altán hill and its surroundings are most easily reached from Pročevily or Volenice. The small settlement of Nouzov on the edge of the forest can serve as a starting point for a hike to the summit of Altán; the best way to get there is from St. Barbara’s Church in Pročevily.

Community Life

On May 26, 2026, the municipality invited people to visit St. Barbara’s Church. At the same time, it asked visitors to take valuables away from the graves near the church wall.
