Příbram: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Příbram Mining Museum is an open-air mining museum on Březové Hory. It includes the areas of the Vojtěch mine, the Anenská shaft and the Ševčinský mine. In terms of the number of historic objects with exhibitions, it is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic. Visitors can travel above ground and underground on a mining railway.

Culture and History

The headframe building of the Vojtěch mine is an architectural technical monument dating from 1870. Zámeček-Ernestinum is one of the oldest preserved monuments in Příbram; today, it houses a wedding hall and the city gallery named after the important Czech photographer František Drtikol. The Church of St. James the Greater is also referred to as kostel sv. Jakuba Staršího and is probably the oldest urban architectural monument in Příbram.

Svatá Hora is a national cultural monument, an important Baroque complex and a pilgrimage site. For almost 350 years, it has towered approximately 590 m above the city. The complex is open to the public for individual visits. A covered staircase leads to Svatá Hora from the centre of Příbram; the total number of steps to the Coronation Altar is said to be 365.

Nature

The Naučná stezka lesoparku Litavka is an educational trail with 12 stops on the southwestern outskirts of Příbram in the Litavka valley. It provides information about the local fauna and flora, as well as about places where silver ore was processed centuries ago. During the walk, children can complete various playful tasks.

Lesopark Litavka has a network of paths leading to forest clearings, floodplain meadows, the Litavka River and ponds hidden among the trees. During walks, visitors can observe rare globeflowers and irises; kingfishers can occasionally be seen above the river.

Educational Trails

The Naučná stezka Padák has eleven stops and provides information about the functions of the landscape and forest in the ecosystem. The educational trail is approximately 2.7 km long and includes play and discovery elements.

Routes

The “From Příbram to Tok” route begins in Orlov and follows cycle paths 8190 and 8258 towards Tok. At 865 m, Tok is the highest mountain in the Brdy Highlands.
