Cetyně: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cetyně carries its history in small, clearly identifiable signs: on the turret of the chapel in Cetyně, a crescent moon and a rooster take the place of a cross. At the same time, Cetyně is mentioned as early as 1336.

Local History and Traditions

In 2019, a commemorative lime tree was planted in the village square of Cetyně to mark the centenary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. Traditional maypole raising takes place there. At house number 1 in Cetyně, there is a stone bearing an engraved chalice; according to local tradition, the site is associated with a Hussite vicarage. The idea of founding the Cetyně Volunteer Fire Brigade arose after a major fire on 22 February 1905. The village square in Cetyně also features a fenced children's playground with climbing equipment, other play facilities, a large sandbox and seating for parents.

Nature

The Bohostice European Site of Community Importance extends across the cadastral areas of Bohostice and Cetyně. The protected species of the Bohostice protected area include Maculinea nausithous.

The mountains of Velká Leč, Hrby, Vinice and Velký Chlum are located in the surroundings of Cetyně. The historic site “Lety u Písku. Památník holokaustu Romů a Sintů v Čechách” is located near Cetyně. In the wider regional surroundings of Cetyně are Hrad Zvíkov Castle, the Valdek Castle Ruins and the Svatá Anna Church.
