Paths, Mountains and Views

Several tourist routes pass through or lead to Vodňanské Svobodné Hory. The tourist route Road to Lomec passes through the village. The 8-kilometre Stožice Nature Trail continues to Vodňanské Svobodné Hory and passes Svobodná Hora on the way there, which lies 640 metres above sea level.

The 24.5-metre-high Haniperk lookout tower stands on Svobodná Hora. It is reached by 110 steps. From Haniperk, visitors can enjoy views across a panorama of the Šumava mountains and of the three South Bohemian royal towns of Vodňany, Písek and České Budějovice.

Routes and Local History

The 21-kilometre cycling and hiking route Around Vodňany and Memories of the Gold Rush in Křepice also passes through Vodňanské Svobodné Hory. The village's history dates back to the 18th century: Vodňanské Svobodné Hory was one of three small settlements that arose on the slopes of the mountain at that time. Remains of medieval gold mining can be found on Svobodná Hora.

Rest and Other Leisure Activities

There is an opportunity to rest by the Chapel of St. Linhart. From the chapel, you can take a turn to Statek U Šťástků for refreshments. Horse riding is one of the leisure activities associated with Vodňanské Svobodné Hory.
