Droužetice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Droužetice is located two kilometres north of Strakonice. Three burial mounds lie west of the village; fragments of heavy vessels from the Hallstatt period were found there – the first reported archaeological find in the surrounding area.

Nature

The forest north of Droužetice offers good opportunities for recreation. The Dražský pond lies in the cadastral area of Droužetice. The Řepický stream crosses the northern part of the Droužetice area for a short stretch.

History and Culture

From 1398, Droužetice was a manor held by noblemen from Miloňovice. The manor fortress and Droužetice were burned down in 1467. In Černíkov, several farmsteads, two small ponds and a chapel together form a classic South Bohemian rural settlement.

The Madonna of Droužetice is a limewood carving created around 1410 during the Beautiful Style period and belongs to the late Beautiful Style. It comes from the Dominican monastery in Pilsen. It was kept in the chapel of Droužetice from the 1940s onwards and donated to the museum in 1981; it is held in the collections of the Muzea středního Pootaví in Strakonice.

Routes and Connections

Road III/13914 runs through Droužetice and Černíkov north of Strakonice. The Březnice–Strakonice railway line runs along the eastern side of the municipality; the nearest stop is Řepice. There is a bus stop in both Droužetice and Černíkov.

Cycling

Cycle route 1062 runs from Strakonice via Droužetice to Radomyšl. One cycling tour passes through Droužetice, past the chapel and uphill, then continues towards Podolí. The „Radomyšl Heritage Sites“ cycling tour passes through Droužetice and Černíkov. It is 35 kilometres long, includes 339 metres of ascent, takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, and has a moderate difficulty level.
